My Healthy Berry Smoothie Recipe

What better way to kickstart your day than a vitamin-packed healthy berry smoothie! The bonus? Your kids eating all their greens they need for the day without the arguments! Imagine that!

Ethan loves to help me make our healthy berry smoothie and the best thing is it’s good for him. I love having him help me in the kitchen, because he’s always so excited to be helping Mummy cook.

Short on time? In this case, I like to prepare freezer smoothie bags for the week, so it’s very easy to whiz one up before school drop off. I easily substitute any of the berries with the frozen type if you can’t buy fresh.

Prepped and ready to go….healthy berry smoothie bags

Ingredients:

  • 1.5 cups of almond milk (you can add extra if you want a bigger smoothie)
  • Bunch of baby spinach
  • Quarter of a baby beetroot
  • 1/2 banana
  • A few strawberries
  • A handful of blueberries
  • A few raspberries
  • 1 teaspoon of chia seeds
  • 1 teaspoon of linseeds
  • A single scoop of Body War Nutrition Daily Greens (Chocolate Swirl). I buy mine from Protein King. I love this one as it has no nasty’s and Ethan can have it too.

Directions:

If you choose to prepare the smoothie in advance, put only the fruit into freezer/sandwich bags and freeze until you’re ready to make the smoothie.

Combine all ingredients in blender and then whiz until all combined and smooth. Pour into glasses and enjoy!

The best thing is that you can change the flavour by adding different fruits/vegetables or putting more of one fruit and less of another. Keep it interesting!
